Two weeks ago I was in SF for the weekend and I ran into the new Think teammanager. Dude was cool and hyped as fuck on skateboarding. He was talking about the soon to be released Think promo….. Well, here it is. My 2 ‘damn, that guy is sick’ mentions; Cody McEntire and Lee Yankou. Holy smokes!

St Helena skatepark

Last weekend we where in SF and our friends there took us to some amazing parks in Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Healdsburg, Windsor, Redwood City and Menlo park. But everywhere we went people kept telling us to go to the new St Helena park. It’s about an hour and a half north of SF, and 45 min east of Santa Rosa.
Only complaint I heard is that you have to wear full pads and that the cops check pretty hardcore….

Isaac goes ‘One way or another’

A while ago I wrote a post about my good friend Isaac McKay-Randozzi when he did a collaboration with Stereo skateboards. After the Stereo thing he didn’t just chill out. I heard big daddy has been skating a lot in the street of SF, and now he is doing an art show/skate tour across the USA with a bunch of skateboarders/artist.

Isaac and Sandro Grison are the curators for this travelling art/skate tour, which will start this Saturday, May 29th, in Los Angeles. After that the caravan will stop in Kansas City and Austin, Texas.
The list of contributing ’skartist’ is long, but you might have heard of Mark ‘FOS’ Foster (Heroin/Altamont), Todd Bratrud (The High 5/Consolidated), Ben Horton ($lave), Donny Miller (Skate Mental), Michael Sieben (Volcom/Roger) and Andy Jenkins (Girl).

It took him 24 hours to get from his house in Deventer, Holland to the Volcom house in Costa Mesa, CA. But as soon as he saw Ben Raemers and David Loy skate the backyard ramp he wanted to skate it….

Just heard that Gang starr MC Guru has passed away after a lost battle against cancer. If you’ve never heard “Hard to Earn’ or “Moment of Truth”, then you are missing out on something. And don’t forget the Jazzmattaz albums….
For some reason Gang Starr’s music will be linked to Steve Olson’s part in Shorty’s “Fullfill the Dream”. It’s one of those skatevideos I’ve watched a million times. Right in the heydays of The Muska and Shorty’s Skateboards. Steve Olson (the ‘new’ one, not Alex’ dad) skated to “Above the Clouds”. Thought the song might fit the sad news.

Skate Movie video premiere in Costa Mesa

Our good friend Richie Valdez is premiering his personal video project in Costa Mesa after 2 years of hard work. Filmed all over California, with some stuff filmed in Arizona and Holland(!).
The video has full parts from Adam Bertolet, Riley Hawk, David Loy, Ryan Reyes, Dan Roberts, Jason Vanzant, Clint Walker, Richie Valdez, and also a huge, banging ass friends section.
Dutch shredder Rob Maatman is rumored to have a part is in the bonus features. And is he also gonna fly out to California to see the video??? Could be an alternative way to spent your Queen’s Day!

The video premieres at 9pm, and before you can skate the Hurley/Converse TF for free. Get messy in Costa Messy!

Check this out. Found this back inside cover ad in a SoCal motorcycle magazine. Emerica shredder Heath Kirchart, know for his Harley, in an Harley-Davidson ad from the Westminster (Huntington Beach) dealer.

You might have seen this commercial a little while ago, for the new Harley Forty-Eight, a customized Sportster. Leo, Braydon’s brother and Slash are in it too. You would think Harley would get smart and target young people by using some pro-skateboarders, but turns out they only wanted these guys because of their looks. Must be nice to get paid for a day of fooling around on a brand new bike….
