We know sex sells way easier then skateboarding, that’s why we know you where hoping for something else when you read the subject of this post. But as we often do leave to path of skateboarding to bring you some total irrelevant crap, this post is just all about skateboarding (boooring!)
Skateboarders are known to travel all over the world, as we all know there are new spots to be skated and new friends to be made. But to help you get to those spots Dutch wonderboy/webnerd Ivo Janssen came up with Spotcovr. It’s basicly Google Maps with skatespots. But how do these spots show up on the map you may ask? Well, that’s where you come in! Since a few years Ivo works at Sole Technology, filling in the footsteps of the other Dutch webnerd Appleman. Ivo was nice enough to give to eS website a boost and co-operate Spotcvr into the eS website….
Since this thing has been running on the eS website I’m surprised how few spots are actually posted. With so many skateboarders these days, so many photo and video cameras and so many hours spent online it shouldn’t be too much to sent in some of your stuff.
And don’t gimmie that crap like ‘I’m not gonna spoil my own spot’ cause there are so many spots that you can share. Don’t worry about your recently discovered top secret spot, we were not planning on going there anyway…. and even if we did wanna go there we just call your friend/local skateshop right?
So give Scuba Steve some support on where to go next and upload some spots! You can even win a year supply of shoes, which I guess in the economic times is a decent prize. They should just sent Scuba Steve and the eS team to your town, but he has already been to Holland a few times over the last few years….
PS1. There is also another website that does what Spotcovr.com does. That site is called skatespots.net and is also built by a Dutch guy. Props! Don’t sleep on the Dutch!!!
PS2. Check the review of Spotcovr.com on The Hot Crew website!
Ow, and Mr Ivo Janssen also built The Skateboard Mag website and a few other good ones!
