A second life for indoor skatepark The Yard?

The outdoor version is gone and will never come back, but the guy who ran the indoor part for 2 years, Jonathan Schouten, is still busy looking for a new warehouse for the indoor skatepark.

Last night we heard he had found a new warehouse. He already has the key to the building, but the group of people that support him are deciding in the next few days if it’s worth the investment. Nice to know that the city of Utrecht is NOT doing anything to help this cause. Will they ever learn?

The new indoor skatepark is located close to exit 8 (centrum) off the A2 highway, between Utrecht and Breukelen (aka Brooklyn). The exit is basicly between the A12 highway and de Oog in Al(win?) exit. Looking from the city of Utrecht it’s on the other side of the Amsterdam-Rijn canal.

Jonathan is planning to open the doors in december. Pretty obvious he can’t get this done on his own. Who gonna built the obstacles? Will it be the same people as last time? Or will other skateboarders take action, and get this going???

The new indoor park obviously also needs sponsors. Are we all waiting it out or do we just line up and support this thing as a group?
